Dell definitely.

Dell

Technically both. Both computers do the exact same thing. Basically you pay for a brand name. The hardware and software run the same. Perosnally I find a computer which you build yourself to be more reliable than any brand name computer.

Hewlett Packard's Windows XP Home Edition

default Gateway's username and password for Hewlett Packard's Windows XP Home Edition?
My manufacturer is Hewlett Packard. I try to access to my default gateway, which I can access to by typing http://192.168.1.1 into my firefox, but it asks me for my username and password and I don't know what it is. Some people say it's always admin for both, or blank for username and admin for the password. But either way, I type it and it keeps saying "401 Authorization Required". Which means I got it wrong. Someone help me with this please? Thank you

Defauly gateway is your router. Default username / pwd depends on the manufacturer of your router. Since you have not posted that information, I'd suggest try following combinations. One of them should work. Username: admin / Password: admin Username: admin / Password: blank Username: admin / Password: password

ok what you want to do is find the reset button. don't just press it and release. hold it down for at least 10 seconds or even 30 seconds. this should do a hard reset on your router back to factory default. then the password and name is as it came from the factory. user name: admin / password: admin user name: admin / password: password user name: admin / password:

It depends upon your router, not your computer. Give us the make and model of your router and maybe we can help. The make of your 'puter is meaningless. Many Linksys routers use "admin" for the user name and no password.

Replacing a Hewlett Packard Keyboard?

Replacing a Hewlett Packard Keyboard?
I use Windows 98 on a HP 6470Z (10 years old). I need to replace the keyboard. It connects to a serial port (not USB). My question is, does the keyboard use a driver? If I replace it with a different kind of keyboard, will I have to download a keyboard driver?

If you buy a new keyboard make sure it has the adaptor that has USB to serial. Yes you can use a USB keyboard with your 10year old machine, but just make sure it has that adaptor. If your keyboard has a lot of features and functions, for example buttons to control media player, then a driver should come with the keyboard for you to install. Or you can always go to the manufacturer's website and download the driver. It looks like this green adaptor: http://c1.neweggimages.com/NeweggImage/productimage/26-125-015-05.JPG

Hewlett-packard Fortune 500

A few years ago, I heard Hewlett-packard was the first Fortune 500 co. to have a female CEO. Is she still CEO?

No she is not. Mark V. Hurd, Chairman, is the CEO and President of HP . Carly Fiorina was known as the former CEO (1999–2005) and Chairman of the Board (2000–2005) of Hewlett-Packard (HP). "On 9 February 2005, Carly Fiorina was dismissed as chairman and chief executive officer of HP. "While I regret the board and I have differences about how to execute HP's strategy, I respect their decision," Fiorina said in a statement. "HP is a great company and I wish all the people of HP much success in the future." She was replaced by Patricia C. Dunn as chairman and CFO Robert Wayman as CEO.[22] Hewlett-Packard's stock jumped 7% on news of her departure.[23] Under Hewlett-Packard's severance agreement, Carly Fiorina received US $21 million in cash, which was 2.5 times her base annual salary.[24] On March 8, 2006, two large institutional investors filed suit against Hewlett-Packard for violating its own severance cap when it doled out a multimillion-dollar payment to Fiorina as part of her termination agreement.[25]"
