Hewlett Packard Backlight seems to periodically turn off.?
My hewlett packard laptop blacklight seems to periodically turn off. Everything is plugged in and ready, and it still seems to turn off. My laptop is in pretty good condition still after 3 yrs,but i still don't know why it does this... It has been happening for about 1 month now.. Thank You!

Either the backlight inverter is going out, and/or the backlight itself. Does hewlett packard make good laptops?
I needed a new laptop and saw some ads and i was considering getting a hewlett packard or compaq laptop.......are they any good?

I prefer Dell personally. I have/had a HP and its not a bad machine however there are many little problems that for myself as a software engineer really annoyed me, but if you getting it for normal use than an HP should be just fine.

If I had a choice I would get an HP because overall I think they're better and more stable than Compaq, but granted I don't have either. I have a Mac, but I've had HP computers before and never really had any problems, but I've heard a lot of bad things about Compaq.

Depends on the series. Generally, HP uses pretty good parts for it's laptops. They also have an easy-to-use website that helps you out a lot. So, normally, yes. I would suggest the HP pavilion series.

well the report I read in the Laptop consumers magazine Hp is the No1 worst computers followed by Dell at No 2, these reports take everything into account from hardware to after sales service their report give top spots to Asus, Acer, Sony and Toshiba Make up your mind what to go for.

HP makes good laptops. If you decide to go with them, aim for the Pavilion or Envy consumer product lines. Compaq is owned by HP and they use the name more for their very low budget line of Presario laptops. If you're looking more for business/professional laptops then look into the Elite/Probook brands.

YES!!!!!! i would deff go with HP over any other brand. i've had one for 8 months now, and havnt had any problems with it. and i use it pretty much everyday. we also have a desktop, printer, and scanner. they are also working great! they aren't overly expensive but yet good computers! ive heard people having lot of problems with dell,and toshiba. and haven't heard much problems with HP.

I am considering buying a new Hewlett-Packard machine, to replace a 15 year old DeskJet 950c. The unit I am looking at is the H.P. PhotoSmart Premium Fax All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Fax, Copier, Possible model number: CC335A#ABA It uses color ink cartridges, item number: 564. What can anyone tell me about how good, reliable, and so on, that this machine is. Also, is $299.99 the best price available, for this machine? If not, what is the best price, and where/what web-site?

Do NOT buy that. It's nothing but problems. The people I know that bought that switched back to their old printer. I've tried fixing one before... got a couple things fixed but some things I couldn't figure out and neither could the computer tech guy my grandparents called. It prints great pictures until it stops working or the colors come out all wrong.

Never heard of edible ink. It's a chemical. NOT edible. Water based dye inks would likely not work in the fine nozzles of inkjet printers. As for paper, only ricepaper is edible, but it's not printer compatable. Sorry, you're out of luck
