Does Hewlett Packard HP make their own ink

Does Hewlett Packard HP make their own ink & toner cartridges or do they outsource to third parties?
With all of the advertising about being "green" and to only buy "GENUINE" HP cartridges I am curious if their cartridges are actually made by Hewlett Packard. Are they made in USA or are they outsourced to China etc?

i am a account manager for a company that sells hp toners and ink, they are the greenest because they recycle alot of their cartidges, and no it is not made in the U.S.... If u wanna buy some see me ;)

Hewlett Packard does not make their own toner cartridges or inkjet cartridges. They outsource them to Malaysia (per packaging on my HP ink here at house). Their claim to "green" isn't substantiated. Their carbon footprint alone is very high because of the long distance traveled from manufacture to end user. Also there are many other more eco-friendly options. There are companies here in the USA that manufacture high quality toners and that are also ISO 14001 certified. Google "Made In USA toner cartridge" and you will get some great options.

Hewlett-Packard is offering a free USB based TV tuner card

How good is Hauppauge TV tuner card with remote? Is Hewlett-Packard fooling the customer with such promotions?
In India, Hewlett-Packard is offering a free USB based TV tuner card with all laptop purchases. The brand is Hauppauge with remote, which they claim costs 6500 Indian Rupees. And I need to register the product and send them 500 Indian Rupees as postal charges. Now how good is the product quality? And what is the actual market price of this? They also happen to be offering a free USB Based External Data Card with the laptops. Again I need to register the product and take a connection with Reliance Web World for 3300 Indian Rupees. Now dont you feel this is a very cheap gimmick by a company like HP? The promotions are splashed all over and its only after purchasing and registering the product the customer understands he needs to shell out extra money to get these free offers. Due to such company promotions present, the dealer also backs away from providing any freebies with the purchase, which they otherwise do. And finally the customer is kind off cheated by HP as well as the dealer

As far as quality, I have a Hauppauge USB based TV tuner and I am very happy with it. I had a PCI card tuner and had several problems with drivers and then got the USB tuner and have been really happy with it. I paid $60US, so I don't know if the "free" one is really worth the shipping charges - that would be your call. Yes, we all hate mail in rebates and extra shipping charges - especially when you have to order / open the product before you get these details - but they are usually still a good deal that very few people actually cash in on - that is what they are counting on. Good Luck

Wow... that's crazy amounts of old... I'd try looking for a Windows 95 disc on e-bay or contacting HP to see if they still offer discs for that computer.

I would suggest you chat with someone from HP, they can tell you if there is or not. and could maybe get one from them. But that's probably a stretch
3 :
Contact HP and if they dont' make disks for that old of computer, try eBay or Craig's list... Or just get a new computer... That would be less of an effort than going through the actions of buying something on eBay and auctioning and all that jazz.

If your mom needs the OS...you can download Win95 for FREE from the net...It officially became freeware about two years ago. Just be careful if you download it from the wrong place(s)...you'll end-up with lots of viruses. As for reformatting the HDD...you have two options. right click on the disk icon in "My Computer" and select Format, or access DOS and type "format C:" (less the quotes). To re-install the OS, follow the instructions that should be on the website, or, find the info in the google search below. Alternatively...take it to a reliable and knowledgeable tech...he can do what needs to be done to refurbish the computer properly...and ensure the OS works properly as well. Good Luck!
