No, Thank goodness. You should not make it that easy to reformat a computer drive. It could be dangerous

No, formatting capability is not part of the BIOS which is what you would need to do that. Not to mention format is really dependent on the type of O/S you are going to put on there. Not all O/S use the same type of file system. You have to use the O/S disk to handle that task.

Yes, well...no.... you need to hot key that process(so that means you need to press more than one button at the same time). But you shouldn't. lol.
4 :
you need the reformat disk. when you boot the computer with the reformat disk in the disk drive, you hit the F12 key or F10 it should say at the bottom of the screen for boot options. then choose to boot from the D Drive. then just follow the instructions

press F10 or F11 at start up

The new HP computers have a mini partition (RESCUE or RESTORE) that is about 8-12GB in size, and can be seen as a computer drive. To activate that rescue program, when you start the computer make sure to press F11. This should take you to a menu where you are asked if you want to revert to all factory-loaded software or not. Best of Luck. (PS: In my case, I had an HP Desktop, and installed Vista after a few months, which deleted that rescue information drive. So I was not able to restore by using F11). I hope it works for you.

microsoft, hewlett packard and the many computer/software companies dont provide this function. however, i do understand that u want to quickly destroy all data and its traces from ur pc low cost method: a very powerful magnet or solenoid (electromagnet). applying this device will damage the hard disk even without rebooting. another low cost method: while the pc is still running unplug or plug another device like another harddisk/dvddrive/floppydrive. to electrically damage the hard disk. a pricey option (negotiable): get a programmer to make a shortcut program to erase your hard disk on demand.

If your HP has a "restore partition" pressing f-11 should access it performing the "destructive" restore will cause your machine to be reformatted and all old data will be lost and the original O.S.and software will be restored.hope this helps, good luck

Yes it's possible to order replacement screens for HP notebooks but the odds are greatly in favor if the part being more expensive than the laptop is worth (last time I priced a replacement monitor for a laptop it was around $800). If you're in a bind you should be able to connect a normal computer monitor to your laptop assuming there's a video out connection (there usually is), although admittedly this will severely limit your mobility.

It is possible to find replacement parts. Go to their website and get the phone number for their tech support. Be advised, they charge a lot for a screen, if the laptop is a couple years old it may be smarter to get a new laptop than sink $400 dollars into your old one.

Shrt answer, Yes. Better answer, you need to remove the plastic bezel and find out EXACTLYwhat screen is in it (like is it a Sharp 73H7210) and look for that precise LCD. In many cases you can find refurbs or pulls, which is WAY cheaper than a new one. Always google the part number, don't try ordering the part from HP themselves, WAY too expensive. Some places will even offer you a discount if you "exchange" your broken LCD for the replacement. I use surplustraders.net when looking for an LCD as they have the largest selection.

yes it is but the replacement cost more than the laptop would have cost, i know b'coz i also went with the same situation recently and they asked me for 1,256.079 dollars . so i bought a imac for 1200,00 dollars
5 :
yes it is possible

Bam, DONT BUY A NEW LAPTOP. When you call HP they will say 750 or so for a screen. Go to http://www.screentekinc.com . They sell laptop screens for a fraction of what major laptop makers sell them for. HP charges so much so you buy a new laptop from them.
