How much is a 1997 Hewlett Packard Pavilion computer worth now?
I want to sell mine but I don't know how much to sell it for. I can't find a price anywhere online either. Please someone let me know! Thank you!

the salvation army would say $1,000 hardware and software try looking at ebay they might have some auctions going

You probably won't find a price on that because that kind of PC is totally out of date. It's probably worth like... $70-$100

$50 maybe. It's a crap now. However, if you keep it for another 20 years, it may appreciate as an antique.

You'd probably end up paying more to recycle it than you would get by selling it. Sorry but PC's depreciate very quickly.

An 11 year old computer is not hugely valuable because there have been years and years of advancements in computers, and at this point, you can buy a brand new computer for a lot less than that HP cost back in '97. I hesitate to put a dollar figure on it because I think you might find it insulting. Let's just say that the right buyer will pay what they think it's worth.

This computer is 11 years old - ancient in today's world. If someone wants a paper weight or curiosity piece - I would imagine that you could get 25 -50 dollars for it.

Look on eBay for a price of one like yours or similar to it. But I don't think you'll get much more than $75 for it because it is all old hardware. The only thing in it maybe worth something would be your memory sticks. You could donate it to a senior center or some not-for-profit agency that is teaching typing skills to the underprivileged people so they can get a job.

Well Tiffanie, that's hard to say. What is it worth to you? If its worth anything at all to you, then I would just keep it because i doubt its worth anything to anyone else. I Usually donate my old computers to the homeless. I have a really bad sense of humor.

Sorry to say this but most of the answerers here are being too generous. An 11 year old computer is worth $30 if that. You should hold off on it because in a few years it will start becoming an antique.I'm sure there are some enthusiasts out there who like collecting these things and will pay ok money for it.

I'm trying to find some advantages of HP products for my university project. Any information would be fine. What would make HP products better compared to other brands products?

None really. As far as laptops and desktops are concerned, most big names like HP and Dell are just system builders. They just buy the major components like the barebones or motherboards from big Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) like Asus, MSI, Foxconn, Compal, etc. The variants are just based on what processor, HDD, ODD, etc. they put in the final product. The uniqueness is often just the result of perceptual differentiation created by the Marketing people (w/ their huge budget for brand building).

Is there any combination of key commands that will reboot without me having to log in? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I live in California and its full of a bunch of people who are too worried about their medical Marijuana to make rational decisions. Palin is not very popular in the big cities here but any type of support really can't hurt. Also I definitely will not be voting Democrat this election. I have officially changed my status to independent. I am disgusted at the Marxist-Communist party that call themselves Democrats.

I find that fascinating and a cautionary tale. Fiorina nearly destroyed Hewlett Packard--look at what happened to its stock price, its financial fundamentals, or best yet, talk to HP employees (they loathed her). One can only imagine what she'll do in the Senate. That Palin is going to endorse her speaks for itself. Cheers.

Carly Fiorina is a lesbian. While I am impressed the Republicans would back a lesbian for Senate, the cynical side of me says they have ulterior motives. I can't wait to hear the bigot Rush's take on it.
