You can access it by restarting the computer into safe mode. First, restart the computer. As it starts, keep pressed the F8 key (some computers instead require the Delete or Esc key). Instead of the familiar Windows screen, you'll see a text-only Advanced Options Menu. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode. Then press Enter.Select the Administrator account. By default on most computers, it requires no password. Once logged in, you can change the password of the account you normally use.To make the change, click Start,Run. In the box, type - control userpasswords2 - and click OK. Select your normal account name in the list. Click the Reset Password button. You'll be prompted for a new password. You can restart the computer and use the new password on your normal account. If you're completely locked out of your computer, you'll need programs like Login Recovery, FastCrack, NT Password and Registry Editor. Each one is free. They make use of boot disks that you can download to a floppy or burn to CD. Run one of them and follow the instructions. Once you've got access to your computer, set a new password through Windows. To do it, click Start, Control Panel. Double click User Accounts. Select your account and click "Change my password." You'll be prompted for a new password. For Vista is much harder, the password can be reset only with specialized soft and good IT skills.

Yeah External caddy take hdd out and put in it... Or download UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) I think there is a tool in there you can use but I think it can be risky

will Hewlett-Packard USB Powered Speakers work for my studio?
i have an unpowered mixer and im looking for cheap powered speakers and i want to know , because it is usb does that effect anything or do i need different ones?

Those speakers need to be plugged into the cpu so they probably won't work for what you are trying to do. M-audio makes some good reference monitors for a fair price.

How long is the battery on a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv9000 supposed to last?
My battery pack on my laptop lasts about 1-hour.....is this about the right time for a laptop...I need to know because I have only had this laptop since November and I need to call HP if I am not getting my recommended usage out of this laptop. I do not think an 1-hour is a good time. I have never owned a laptop so, I am asking you guys.

Sorry, HP's are junk. They are just a Compaq with a different name and color, made in China...Junk. They also have the worst service department in the world, literally. Laptop batteries will usually last from 1.5 to 5 hours, depending upon the demand, the battery and the use. Sound burns up a lot of juice as does the DVD player so if you're watching movies or playing games an hour is about right. You can purchase a better battery. Good luck

I have a dv8000 which is pretty close to a dv9000 and my battery lasts about 2 to 2.5 hours when watching movies with the screen brightness turned down all of the way. Now if I try to play games or other intensive applications I get about half of that. So it all depends on what you are doing. After looking at hps website it shows that there are two types of batteries for your laptop a regular one and a high capacity one. So if you are running high demanding applications and have the regular battery 1 hour sounds about right. If you are just surfing the web or listening to music then it sounds like something is wrong.
