where can i get the xp driver for hewlett packard photo drive sd410c?
i have the 98 driver but honestly my computer is too good for 98 and let alone vista. I grabbed this drive out of a old computer i had and figured the drive would come in handy for all my old photo's i need to upload. The light inside the scanner drive is flashing, but when i hit the button to insert the photo nothing happens. It worked fine on the other computer.

Go to HP web site. They are pretty good at having their drivers. Just log the device name and model number and it takes you right to it. down load the file to a place you select on your computer and install from there. Good luck

Hewlett-Packard:Is there a time limit for shipping a computer in for repair?
I need to ship my computer off for repair, but I know they won't work on it during the holidays. I got the box to ship it all off today, but I don't know how long HP Employees are off for the Holidays. So, I figured I would just wait until after next week. The question is does HP have a shipping time limit before they throw the problem out? It is under warrenty

Restore my Hewlett packard to factory settings without cd?
Does anyone have any idea how to do this? My computer will turn on like everything is working. It'll start up with a thing that says "owner" so I click on owner and just when my desktop is about to load, it stops and goes back to the "owner" page. It does this even in safe mode... So I give up. I just wanna wipe my computer clean. Any ideas how? Thanks

You didn't say what OS you are running but I'm guessing it's Windows XP. If you really want to install again, you could try pressing F11 while booting. Your recovery partition should be unaffected by this problem. You can reload your operating system from there. This behavior is usually caused directly or indirectly by malware. It changes the registry to point to its own program (usually it is wsaupdater.exe) instead of userinit.exe. Subsequently, if your malware or antivirus program whacked wsaupdater or its ilk, you can't log in any more after it tells you to reboot. If you boot into the XP recovery console you could try copying c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe to c:\windows\system32\wsaupdater.exe. If this gets you logged in, you should at some point fix the registry to point to userinit.exe. There is another method you can try if you if that didn't work but it entails booting into a standalone XP environment and changing the registry. If you are up for that, you can google userinit.exe "hiren" registry. Put hiren in quotes or you'll get too many bogus hits. The hits at the top will tell you how to do it. There are similar solutions right here in Yahoo Answers.

Ensure that System Restore is enabled by clicking "Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance." Select the "System Restore" tab. Under "Available Drives," see if the drive you want to restore is being monitored. Ensure that the "Turn off System Restore on All Drives" check box is not checked. Select "Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore." This will open the System Restore Wizard window. Select the check box next to "Restore my computer to an earlier time." Click "Next." Click on a date on the calendar that is at least 1 day in the past. In the pane on the right, select a restore point from the list. Click "Next." Save your work and close any programs you currently have running. Click "Next" to shut down Windows and restore your computer to an earlier state.

I tried everything possible to get my computer out of power save mode,the only thing it does is says is entering power save mode and then lights go amber color.Can't even get into start menu or anything.It's driving me crazy

Why did my HP Hewlett Packard Pavillion Tx1000 laptop only last 1 month?

Because individual part failures. A computer company can't be judged based on individual parts. HP is a good computer company your laptop may of had a defective part though. Tell them that its broke and they'll fix it.

i feel your pain. i used to own an ancient hp computer, lasted 7 years, it was a great machine. but now Hp has become an awful company. my pavilion dv6000 notebook had to have its motherboard replaced TWICE and its screen replaced once. Their customer service was awful, they didnt understand anything said to them. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYHTING HP AGAIN! AND A WARNING TO OTHERS, DO NOT BUY HP PRODUCTS!

No, it's perfectly safe. It's just bloatware. Remember, HP doesn't make Windows and Windows works just fine on non-HP computers...lol Uninstall it and be FREE OF IT!!! LOL

How can I make my Hewlett Packard computer run like it did the day it came from the factory?
I just want to get rid of all the junk on here that's been downloaded and make it run like new again. I don't care about anything that gets deleted. It's just games etc... from the kids. THANK YOU

Get your system restore/recovery disc that came with the computer or the windows CD, whichever it came with, put it in the cd rom, reboot the computer and when it asks you to "hit any key to boot from CD" hit a key and follow the directions.
2 :
some computers have an onboard recovery that acts like a fresh install. (not the same as system recover in start menu) my hp if i press f10 at this bios screen it reinstalls windows and everything just like it came from the foctory. if this is not an option you can order the same thing on cd from the manufacturer. or you could always get you own copy of windows from somware and reinstall a bare copy that way. but if you dont have a library of disk for the programs you use ware you can install them back in after then i wouldnt recomemend that. although it is the best way to make one like new. i would probly suggest getting the manufaturers cd and running that. it may take a couple hours but when its done it will be identicle to the way it was when you bought it. just make sure you do disk clean up and defragmenting after that. thats a must after any complete install like that.
