RAM for my Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze2000
Where can I find RAM for my Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze2000 notebook?
I am looking for a good price my friend recently added more RAM to his laptop and he got 2 GB for $40. So please make sure the price of the RAM is a good deal.

512mb piece for 29.00 not too bad as your machine max memory is 512 or 1 gb

2 gigs for $40 is a great deal, but I could almost guarantee it's not the same type of memory that you use. The Pavilion ze2000 uses DDR 2700 memory, as opposed to the much cheaper DDR 5400. Your computer also has two ram slots and can recognize up to 2 gig, so keep that in mind when you buy memory. Here is the info from HP.com for the laptop. Manufacturer HP - Compaq Model Pavilion ze2000 Series Maximum Memory 2048MB Standard Memory 256 or 512MB removable Number of Slots 2 (2 banks of 1) You can expect to pay ~$50 for 512meg of 2700 on sale. ~$70-$90 for 1gig. I don't think they sell a 2gig DDR 2700. If you do a search for DDR 2700 on any computer site, you will get the most recent prices. Make sure it says 'notebook memory' as well. CompUSA.com was the best prices I could find months ago. Best of luck!

Why is my computer (hewlett packard) installing programs by itself?
I have very recently noticed a difference in my computer. It has started to install different programs by itself into my computer. What do i do?

..uninstall them, fight back! its prabably drivers for printers, mice, speakers etc. When in doubt, call HP, they have really Good Customer Support.

You need to be more specific. If it is relatively new it could be installing HP updates. Or you could have picked up a trojan downloader. I suggest running A-Squared Free anti-malware just to see: http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

How good are Hewlett Packard Vectras and how old are they? I have never heard of one and bought a rebuilt one?

over to the opening page, my screensaver and directory,i have to start all over again! this business happens all the time,even on my old laptop it did this,wtf?

Are you talking about the "phantom touchpad" phenomenon, wherein the pressure of resting your hands on the keyboard while typing triggers movements on the touchpad, possibly causing focus loss and weird window focus changes, interfering with your work? You can alleviate this in a number of ways. One is to learn to type properly -- your hands are not supposed to rest on anything, but float in the air above the keyboard (that's how fast typists do it). Another idea is to disable touch-clicks in your touchpad's settings/properties. Even better, some modern touchpads have either drivers with settings that allow you to disable the touchpad while typing (they "work" to varying degrees), or a hardware switch that allows you to disable the touchpad outright at will. Why don't you phone and complain to HP and insist on a resolution? I have no idea why their laptops are so popular; I've yet to be impressed by one, but I guess it must be this kind of thing -- crapitude that customers don't complain about and just put up with -- that lets them get away with it. I have an Hewlett Packard printer and I tried to print something and then cancelled it. Now when I open the?
I have an Hewlett Packard printer and I tried to print something and then cancelled it. Now when I open the "Printers and Fax Drivers" box (the printer icon in the tray) it seems to be stuck because it says "deleting-printing" and I tried to cancel it but it won't go away! What can I do?

reboot your computer to reset everything, and if that does not free up your printer, go to control program, add/remove and uninstall the printer and then re-install it.

simply restart the computer

With your computer turned on, turn your printer off. Then opent the "Printers" icon in control panel. Next double click on your printer Icon (there may be more than one. Choose the one that you print to.) this will opent he printer que. Click on "printer" and from the menu, choose "Cancel all documents" You may have to wait a while but this will remove all the the print jobs from the print que. Once all jobs are clear, shutdown your computer then turn on your printer and then restart your computer. See how that goes, Cheers, Robert

Epson or Hewlett Packard better?
Concerning all-in-one printers, do you like Epson or hewlett Packard better?
I have had Epsons and have had trouble with them. Also the ink is so expensive. is there an economical solutions regarding the ink, with any brand. Epson claims you can only use their brand, no refills or it will ruin the machine. Any thoughts out there?

I've worked on just about every printer brand out there and probably a total of over 2000 printers. Epson is an okay printer but you'll have better luck with the HP. The construction and parts are superior.

As a hardware technician for over 20 years, I have always used and recommended Epson because of their superior warranty and the availability of inexpensive ink. For a year, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it. I have clients with HPs and Canons and when they need servicing, it's carry it in to the service center or ship it (and they cost a lot to ship) then wait a few weeks to get it back. With Epson it's one phone call and you have a replacement the next day. Most of the problems with inkjets are due to people who don't understand how to care for them. You might find the best value direct from epson.com They have the workforce 500 for $45 with free shipping. It's a refurb which I don't usually recommend, but it's coming direct from Epson with the one year warranty. It is a copier/scanner/printer/fax with auto sheet feeder. I bought one myself. Great machine. Ink cartridges are under $3 and hold almost triple the ink of genuine epson. You can get 11 free cartridges every month, as I've done for the past 5 months.
