Like all American firms there is a real probability that Al Qaida will eventually find a reason to sue it out of existence in the US court system. They have all but done so in the case of Ford, GM and Chrysler (sic). How pray tell does a company run whist paying more by force of civil law suit for "witch doctor ordered happy pills" for it's "workforce" than it does for raw materials? Remember, Al Qaida is a terrorist group. They have as a modus operandi the willful destruction of "enemies" by enabling or forcing dope down the systems of said "infidels" (what they, mocking reverence for the Muslim faith, call us). Of course, given the utter ease of coercing doctors to proscribe pills by legitimate threats of pulling doctor's licenses by exploiting the conserfative hatred for the working class in conserfative civil court, they will attack us not through airplanes into buildings mostly, but by our own court system.

RAM for my Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze2000
Where can I find RAM for my Hewlett-Packard Pavilion ze2000 notebook?
I am looking for a good price my friend recently added more RAM to his laptop and he got 2 GB for $40. So please make sure the price of the RAM is a good deal.

2 gigs for $40 is a great deal, but I could almost guarantee it's not the same type of memory that you use. The Pavilion ze2000 uses DDR 2700 memory, as opposed to the much cheaper DDR 5400. Your computer also has two ram slots and can recognize up to 2 gig, so keep that in mind when you buy memory. Here is the info from HP.com for the laptop. Manufacturer HP - Compaq Model Pavilion ze2000 Series Maximum Memory 2048MB Standard Memory 256 or 512MB removable Number of Slots 2 (2 banks of 1) You can expect to pay ~$50 for 512meg of 2700 on sale. ~$70-$90 for 1gig. I don't think they sell a 2gig DDR 2700. If you do a search for DDR 2700 on any computer site, you will get the most recent prices. Make sure it says 'notebook memory' as well. CompUSA.com was the best prices I could find months ago. Best of luck!

Are you talking about the "phantom touchpad" phenomenon, wherein the pressure of resting your hands on the keyboard while typing triggers movements on the touchpad, possibly causing focus loss and weird window focus changes, interfering with your work? You can alleviate this in a number of ways. One is to learn to type properly -- your hands are not supposed to rest on anything, but float in the air above the keyboard (that's how fast typists do it). Another idea is to disable touch-clicks in your touchpad's settings/properties. Even better, some modern touchpads have either drivers with settings that allow you to disable the touchpad while typing (they "work" to varying degrees), or a hardware switch that allows you to disable the touchpad outright at will. Why don't you phone and complain to HP and insist on a resolution? I have no idea why their laptops are so popular; I've yet to be impressed by one, but I guess it must be this kind of thing -- crapitude that customers don't complain about and just put up with -- that lets them get away with it. I have an Hewlett Packard printer and I tried to print something and then cancelled it. Now when I open the "Printers and Fax Drivers" box (the printer icon in the tray) it seems to be stuck because it says "deleting-printing" and I tried to cancel it but it won't go away! What can I do?

reboot your computer to reset everything, and if that does not free up your printer, go to control program, add/remove and uninstall the printer and then re-install it.

Choose the one that you print to.) this will opent he printer que. Epson or Hewlett Packard better?
Concerning all-in-one printers, do you like Epson or hewlett Packard better?
I have had Epsons and have had trouble with them. Also the ink is so expensive. is there an economical solutions regarding the ink, with any brand. Epson claims you can only use their brand, no refills or it will ruin the machine. Any thoughts out there?

I've worked on just about every printer brand out there and probably a total of over 2000 printers. Epson is an okay printer but you'll have better luck with the HP. The construction and parts are superior.

As a hardware technician for over 20 years, I have always used and recommended Epson because of their superior warranty and the availability of inexpensive ink. I have clients with HPs and Canons and when they need servicing, it's carry it in to the service center or ship it (and they cost a lot to ship) then wait a few weeks to get it back. With Epson it's one phone call and you have a replacement the next day. Most of the problems with inkjets are due to people who don't understand how to care for them. You might find the best value direct from epson.com They have the workforce 500 for $45 with free shipping. Great machine. Ink cartridges are under $3 and hold almost triple the ink of genuine epson. You can get 11 free cartridges every month, as I've done for the past 5 months. The only split I could find for HP occurred in the late 1990s when they spun off their scientific instruments, semiconductors, optical networking devices, and electronic test equipment businesses into Agilent. At the time they retained their computer, storage and imaging businesses. I do not believe that you will find a list of entities anyplace because prior to the spin off of Agilent HP was a single entity without any subsidiaries or free-standing divisions. has anyone used Hewlett Packard's online PC Health Check Diagnostic Utility?
I tried it for my Laptop, and for some reason, after saying that the test could take up to 90 seconds, it took mine a whopping 5 hours, and was still going. I think i have a virus or something, preventing the health check to do it's job. Anyone have any thoughts?

HP dv2000t series laptop with Windows Vista
HP (Hewlett Packard) lovers… can you help me with a printer purchase?
I am looking for a laser printer that is pretty fast, and can print black & white, color documents and photos all on one printer. I am running an HP dv2000t series laptop with Windows Vista (already pre installed). I also would like to to have a printer that I can print to wirelessly. From a consumer point of view, does anyone have any good suggestions so that I may take them with me when I go printer shopping?

A color laser printer is an expensive item starting at over $200 for a cheap one. If you are not doing alot of color printing you might consider an HP 1018 laser printer for black copies and a cheap all in one ink jet printer for color. It depends on your reason for wanting a laser printer. Laser printers are built very well and have unbeatable text quality when printing on cheap paper. However, most entry-level laser printers will only have a 600x600 dpi color print resolution. Hence, inkjet printers are usually preferred for photos. So, here's my recommendations: If you're looking for best print quality on cheap paper, consider either the HP Laserjet 1600 or 2600n (2600n has networking and comes with full toner cartridges). These printers are great and photos are decent. If your reason for purchasing a laser printer was because their printing costs are generally lower than inkjets, then you may be pleased to know that HP has released a few inkjet printers that actually beat many laser printer's cost per page while maintaining high quality prints. Color can be printed at up to 4800x1200 dpi and quality on highy-quality paper is arguably better than laser printers. Here is an example of the printing costs of the new HP printers: 88XL black cartridges costs $35, but will print aproximately 2,350 pages. This comes out to 1.5 cents per black page. The HP monochrome 1018 laser printer black cartridge costs $70 and will print 2,000 pages at a cost of 3 cents per page. The printer I would recommend to you is the HP Officejet Pro K5400 which retails for around $150 (if you want multifunction, the L7580, L7680, or L7780 have the same ink system as the K5400). This printer uses 4 cartridges, one for each color. A color laser printer is an expensive item starting at over $200 for a cheap one. If you are not doing alot of color printing you might consider an HP 1018 laser printer for black copies and a cheap all in one ink jet printer for color. It depends on your reason for wanting a laser printer. Laser printers are built very well and have unbeatable text quality when printing on cheap paper. However, most entry-level laser printers will only have a 600x600 dpi color print resolution. Hence, inkjet printers are usually preferred for photos. can I make my hewlett packard pavilion go faster?
old desktop computer that runs kind of slow. It runs pretty fast considering its age. What do I upgrade to make it go faster. Is it the hard-drive? Clean out the Startup folder so it does not load unnecessary stuff check it first with Task Manager, check all tabs, (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). You could try overclocking but we ain't going there cuz we don't wanna chance it. ;-) PS: Have at least 2 Gig RAM if yer comp. will take it.

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don't always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task. First, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. You are going to need to be a little more specific. Apple Powerbook laptop's probably only have usb and/or firewire ports available, while older HP printers may need a parallel cable/ centronics input.

This computer has trapped my documents and an upgrade demands $140 +/- to access them. Is there a costless solution to this or do I have to find another manufacturer that sells their computer with microsoft basic word processor that will not cost extra after the initial purchase? There is a free word processing software called Open Office that will open Word documents: http://www.openoffice.org/ If you really dont want to shell out the extra money for getting a copy of Word then its your best bet.

What is Hewlett Packard? McDonald's food tastes yummy...but is really bad for you. I heard they got caught using sick cow meat for the hamburgers or something... :P

They are both stable companies. For someone seeking stability before gain, they should be safer then US bonds. It is very risky to invest in US dollars. I don´t have anything about US companies, but with the dollar devaluation that keeps on, the profits made on stock might be outweighted by the loss of the dollars. Its nice to make a profit on your investment, but does it mean so much when your purchasing power in that currency goes down and down ?

Cramer is more of a showman then stock expert. He choose MCD and HP because they are both components of the DJIA. So barring anything tragic or illegal, they will go up or down with the DOW. I don't follow either, so I can't give even an educated guess as to what they will do, other than the rise and fall of the DOW. I will say I am an ex chef and I have never and will never own a restaurant stock. There is as much risk in the stock as owning the restaurant,. Not even the good ones like, Chipotle Mexican Grill ... CMG One cow with mad cow disease or ecoli (sp?) can kill the whole chain. MCD could probably survive because it is so large.

If you press the setup button ( i think it is f12) when the HP icon page is there during the startup. you should be able to do a system restore without the disks. It will use the data that is on the other partition to do the reformat. Just read the screen when the HP icon is up and it will say click a key to enter recovery console

contact HP, and hope they still offer those restore disks from that far back. Otherwise you will need a ful version windows operating system in order to start with a new operating system. Good thing is i believe Windows has abandoned all support for Windows 98, and it might mean you could get it somewhere and it might not be considered piracy. unsure on that, up to you to investigate. Only for Windows 98, and earlier though Would not advise that for Windows XP

i downloaded the one from their support site and it doesn't work! i know the hardware works cuz it was working before i changed the hard drive and reinstalled windows xp media center ed? they say it takes a realteck driver but i think it is supposed to be a different one? supposedly the motherboard is an asus p5lp-le if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it! thanks :o)

Go to the HP website and speak to an expert via live chat it should help. It solved many of my problems. If not I would google your soundcard and download the updated drivers.

I'm stuck like you on this one but based on the Motherboard specs you have a realtek sound card. Realtek ALC888 to be exact. You're best bet is to go to the realtek website and download the drivers there. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/

Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver available for Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/835221 If you install Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, I don't think the UAA driver will be needed.

Is there any way I can add a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 612C printer to my Dell computer?
I know there is not plug in, on the Dell for the printer, but can I set the printer as remote access? OK, I went to walmart and got a USP parallel printer adapter, with user manual and printer adapter, a tiny disk to put in my computerk, and I was so tickled that I was going to be able to print. But the adapter does not fit the hewlett Packard Plug, and the walmart employee told me that all the adapters were the same size. Now what do I do, and can I take the darn think back, the package was really hard to get into and I cut it up with sissors. Cost me 22 dollars.

You should be able to find a printer card for the computer at http://www.geeks.com providing that you have an available PCI slot to install it into. Then the computer will have a standard printing port to plug into. Hope this helps

I have a Hewlett Packard DX5150 tower with a standard primary drive that only loads data CDS. Also, it takes an IDE ribbon cable I think. Then I have a Hewlett Packard 6545C with the serial number D9939A that is a tower with a primary drive of a CD-RW that uses an IDE ribbon cable. Therefore, would I be able to install the Hewlett Packard 6545C CD-RW drive into the Hewlett Packard DX5150 tower?

I haven't heard of any problems with HP. However, I have heard of Compaq, which is currently owned by HP, having problems. My brother-in-law had a Compaq that crashed. PCs are like blind people, when behind the steering wheel of a car--they consistantly crash! Of course, if I had to use a PC, I'd get an HP. Other than that, I'd only get a Mac.

I have windows XP and I have a Hewlett Packard 5610xi printer But I can not get the printer to work?
I have tried the troubleshooting procedures but nothing it suggested works. All my cables are plugged correctly, including the port to the hard drive. My printer screen says, that there is no connection to the computer. However, when I go to the control panel and click on printer and the status. The computer says the printer is ready. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Okay God bless you.

Unplug the USB cable from the computer. Uninstall the software using Add/Remove programs in Control Panel. Download the latest software from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=441127&lang=en Install the software, when it tells you to plug in the printer, plug it in, do not plug it in until it asks you to do so. The wizard should finish, and it should tell you that it has successfully installed the software. Reboot your computer and test the printer. This usually takes care of these kind of problems.

I also have hp photo smart c3100 all-in-one series and it wont go on checked basics guide troubleshooting procedures and still wont turn on at all.

It's kind of an old computer like a 2003. Maybe a 2004. I keep on going to the adobe webite, but it doesn't let me download it!
