Hewlett Packard computer wont start up
Its a Hewlett Packard Vectra VE. Everytime i start it up it says that the NTLDR is missing or that the drive is not ready and wont startup. Any help is much appreciated.

If you have the recovery disc, do a reinstall of the operating system. There may be some files missing.

How much to fix a 17 inch hewlett packard laptop?
Please help. The back of my HP laptop has cracked at the part where it closes shut. The computer still works, but it doesn't close properly. There is no resistance when I try to close it; it just plops down because of the crack. How much do you think it would be to fix it?

it is rarely economic to do any repair to laptops that have broken any replacement part will have an inflated price and the postage/repair costs may well be almost as much as a new laptop, best route is buy a good used one on e-bay or a bust one with the part that has broken on yours still intact, I once bought three laptops on e-bay all about $50 each all broken and ended up with One really good fully working one

Give HP a call and ask how much the part is. Once you have that figure an hour at a computer shop..so with going rates probably about $75 plus the part.

Why did Hewlett Packard stop enclosing return envelopes for ink cartridges?
Why did Hewlett Packard stop enclosing return envelopes for ink cartridges?
The past few ink refills I've opened for HP ink 74/75 have not had a return envelope for the empty cartridge as per usual. This hardly seems responsible to me. Anyone know what is going on?

HP only encloses return envelopes on cartridges which have aftermarket value. Currently the 74 and 75 have no aftermarket value and haven't for a couple months.

Hewlett Packard C4200 Printer
How do I stop my Hewlett Packard C4200 printer from not using the first page it is given?
If I want to print out a picture/piece of writing from a Word Document, I need to feed in two pieces of paper into the printer. This is because the printer takes in the first piece of paper and then spits it out without printing on it. Is there any way to stop this happening? Thanks Tech Spec: Running Windows XP & Microsoft Word 2003 on an Alienware 'Area-51' Printer = HP C4200

printers print backwards. last page to first page. if your last page is a blank page that might be the problem . other than that im not really sure of what it could be. im not much of a computer techie.

Try going into print preferences and there should be an option to print the last page first or what number of the individual pages you want - this is usually under 'Page range' on the print menu page. If you do have a blank sheet as page 2 on the Word document then delete it by putting the cursor on it and press the return button until it has gone. Mine used to do this and then printer that page blank even though I had not written on it - drove me mad. The Word programme puts a new page up when you are near the bottom thinking you need a new page. If you do not need it it has to be deleted by you or Word will save the document as two pages and your printer will print it as a blank page.

Ah, but which division of HP would you be talking about, the PC business (including laptops and notebooks), the printer business (and the ink, paper and all that), the networking and storage business (i.e. Digital Corporation), or such? Keep in mind that IBM is NOT in the PC business any more. They sold their PC division to Lenovo (of China) many years ago. And Dell's printers are just rebadged Lexmarks.

Garbage computers... With good warranties thank god... HP actually makes compaq computers. That's why I won't buy another :-)

Once upon a time, Compaq was a separate computer company. Then, HP came along and bought them. Now, HP makes Compaq computers, and just keeps the name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compaq end of line
